This was one of the best stories that I’ve read! Beverly’s description of her mom’s interests and a more passive role in experiencing life through television was hysterical. Picturing her mom watching a tennis match with binoculars made me laugh out loud. The last phase of a parent’s life can be heart wrenching. Bev and George made a special effort, despite almost throwing in the towel, to keep Bev’s mom healthy and happy, and to remember that family was important. Remembering my parents’ final chapter, and reading about Bev’s desire to attempt to make all participants happy, was tough because I understand the pain Bev must have been feeling. She and George did a great job!!

I am so impressed with the level of writing, at the great improvements you’ve made in style and structure since years ago when I read a story or two of yours. Not one typo or clumsy sentence. Brava! Very, very impressed, Bev. Yes, time to retire and get the longer work finished—no kidding. You’re wasting valuable time when you should be working on your writing.
